THERE IS A JUDGMENT DAY

J. Grant Swank, Jr.

Most live on this Earth as if this Earth is going to be a last-out forever here. Not so. One day, mortals, we will all leave this Earth.

After that last breath, mortals face Judge Christ. That goes for those of all religions and those of no religion. Judge Christ made the Earth. Judge Christ maintains the Earth. Judge Christ will master the Earth.

In the meantime, those who leave the Earth appear before Judge Christ. Preachers don’t preach about it that often. Religious magazines hardly every mention it.
Christian teachers in universities and colleges treat the subject as a non-entity.

That’s exactly what Satan would have us do. He would have us forget that which is the most crucial “moment” outside time and space. It is standing before Judge Christ to give an account of our planetary stay.

All of this is plainly placed by kind God in his divine revelation. Read it:

Hebrews 9:27:

It is appointed unto men once to die, but after that the judgment.

Matthew 7:21-23: the words of Christ:

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 12:36-37: the words of Christ:

But I say unto you that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Romans 2:6-11:

God who will render to every man according to his deed: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immorality, eternal life; But unto them that are contentious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
But glory, honor and peace to every man that worked good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God.

Romans 14:10-12:

For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

I Corinthians 4:5:

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsel of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

II Corinthians 5:10:

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Numbers 32:23:

Be sure your sin will find you out.

Now ask yourself if you are ready for the Judgment Seat of Christ. If not, the same kind God provides us with salvation so that we can know we are ready to be embraced by Judge Christ at our own personal accountings. Note what God says about how to find salvation. This is the spiritual invitation from God Himself:

(1)  COME TO JESUS.

“For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost”  (Matthew l8:ll).

“For the Son of man is not come to destroy man’s lives, but to save them” (Luke 9:56).

“I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture” (John l0:9).

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:l6).

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:l6-l7).

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:2l).

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:l2).

“. . .we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved ” (Acts l5:ll).

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans l0:l3).

(2)  CONFESS YOUR SINS TO JESUS.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John l:9).

“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy” (Proverbs 28:l3).

(3)  CAST YOUR SOUL UPON HIS MERCY.

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost” (Titus 3:5).

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need”  (Hebrews 4:l6).

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (Peter l:3).

(4)  COMFORT YOURSELF WITH THE REALITY OF SALVATION AND HOPE OF HEAVEN.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:l).

“. . .to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace” (Romans 8:6).

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  For ye have
not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry Abba, Father” (Romans 8:l4-l5).

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God” (Romans 8:l6).

“If God be for us, who can be against us?  He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”  (Romans 8:3l-32).

Pray to God now for this gift of salvation to be yours. Then thank Him for rescuing your soul from sin and hell. Next, live for Christ till you see Him face to face at the Judgment Seat.
